ABOUT TERUYA'S ANDAGI
If you live in Honolulu, HI, or the nearby area, you probably see dozens of the same restaurants every day. Teruya’s Andagi is the local Japanese food hotspot for all of your traditional favorites, including bentos, andagi, and mochi. We started serving the area with delicious Japanese cuisine back in 1987, and although a lot has changed since then, the quality and intense flavor of our food still remain. Ask any of our loyal customers and we guarantee a ravishing review of both our service and our menu options.
More than three decades ago we began as a small andagi and mochi concession stand, providing a smaller version of our current menu to the people of Hawaii who were craving real Japanese flavors. In our current location, we continue to build and grow the legacy that was started back in the 80's. Our family owned and operated business has passed the reins to the next generation to continue providing Honolulu County residents and visitors with tasty treats such as shrimp tempura rolls, bentos, and many other Japanese classics.
We also participate in the Kaiser High School Farmer's Market every Tuesday @4:00PM!

Each day we serve our family recipes to customers delighted to taste accurate and powerful flavors and textures. Come give our local Japanese restaurant a try, and we guarantee you’ll find a dish or bento box you love.
I love this place. Everything I have ordered is tasty and reasonably priced. I usually order the vegetable bento and love their option with the goya (bitter melon). In my skinnier days I also loved their shrimp tempura roll and their fried mochi ball-thing. Although the ladies in the back are constantly making rolls as you order it, you need to arrive early to be sure the bento you were hoping for did not sell out. Parking can be a hit or miss since it's street parking, but well worth the trouble!

We visited Teruya's Andagi for the first time right before Christmas, 2018. I can honestly say that everything I ate there was excellent! The karaage and various musubis were awesome and the Andagi was super good. And the tofu patties - while I didn't expect them to be very impressive - ended up being one of my favorite things there. Masaki, the owner, helped us out. Really a good, down-to-earth guy. When he heard my kids liked baseball cards, he told a little story about a baseball card experience from his childhood. Classic. This place is worth every bit of the 5-star review and is formally now on the must visit places every time we're on Oahu!

Andagi is the best and one of the biggers balls of goodness you will taste for $1, especially when fresh. Their pupu section only $1.99. Their bento reasonable and tasty. Going back soon to try their donburi bowls. Lastly, it's always about the service and if their food wasn't as awesome as it is, I would go back just to support the male cashier and female cook. They were so sweet and sincere. Great quick stop. Just park across street at Petco or FHB and use the crosswalk.
